Upgrading from earlier versions of the Engineering Test Management and Engineering Requirements Management DOORS integration

If you integrated IBM® Engineering Test Management with Engineering Requirements Management DOORS® to import requirements to your test artifacts prior to Engineering Test Management Version 4.0, then you can upgrade to the integration that is based on the Open Services for Lifecycle Collaboration (OSLC) specification. Previous versions of the integration used the Engineering Test Management Interface. With OSLC, you can create bidirectional links between test and requirement artifacts and display rich hover text when you view Engineering Requirements Management DOORS requirements in test cases and test plans.

Before you begin

You must have already used the integration to export a Engineering Requirements Management DOORS view to a Engineering Test Management project using the following components:
  • Rational® DOORS Version 9.3.0.5
  • RQMi
  • Engineering Requirements Management DOORS Server
  • Engineering Requirements Management DOORS Web Access

About this task

When you migrate artifacts to the new integration, the Engineering Requirements Management DOORS requirements that were imported through the previous integration are archived and replaced with bidirectional links.

Procedure

  1. Uninstall Rational DOORS Version 9.3.0.5.
  2. Install the Engineering Requirements Management DOORS client, the Engineering Requirements Management DOORS database server, and DOORS Web Access. For more information, see the topics in the Engineering Requirements Management DOORS documentation.
    1. Install the Engineering Requirements Management DOORS software, and select the typical client and database server installation options.
    2. Start Engineering Requirements Management DOORS, create an administrator password, and note the password for later use.
    3. Install and configure Engineering Requirements Management DOORS Web Access.
  3. Configure Engineering Requirements Management DOORS Web Access to consume OSLC data. While performing the configuration according to the Engineering Requirements Management DOORS help, complete the following additional steps:
    • When you are setting up DOORS Web Access to remote applications with OSLC, in the Remote Services page, add "V2 RQM server."
    • In the Remote Services page, at the bottom, add the link types.
  4. Restart the Engineering Requirements Management DOORS client.
  5. To migrate the existing requirements view to OSLC, in the Engineering Requirements Management DOORS client, in the RQMi menu, click the migration button. For more information, see the Configuring Rational DOORS Web Access to use OSLC documentation.
  6. Configure Engineering Test Management to integrate with Engineering Requirements Management DOORS using OSLC.
