Setting up project-level quality objectives

You can open the Managing Quality Objectives editor from the Project Properties page or from an individual test plan. Any edits that you make are available to all test plans in the project area. All user-defined quality objectives are informational only and do not contain computed values.

About this task

To manage the quality objectives that are available to your test team:

Procedure

  1. Log in as a user who has permission to save and modify a project area. This can be any one of the following:
    • A user granted permission to save and modify a project area in the process configuration.
    • A user who is an administrator of the project area.
    • A user who is granted either the JazzProjectAdmins or JazzAdmins repository group permissions.
  2. Edit one of the predefined quality objectives in Project Properties:
    1. Click the Administration (Administration) icon in the top right portion of the banner and select Manage Project Properties. Then select Quality Objectives.
    2. Select a row in the table.
    3. Double-click a table cell to edit the Name, Description, Condition, or Target.

For example, with the Execution Record Pass Rate, the default target is greater than 80%. You can adjust the target upward or downward, depending on the level of quality you deem acceptable.

    4. Make your changes and click Save.
  3. Add a new quality objective in Project Properties that your team can use in individual test plans:
    1. Click the Administration (Administration) icon in the top right portion of the banner and select Manage Project Properties. Then select Quality Objectives.
    2. Click the Add Row icon (Add table row).
    3. Type a Name and Description.
    4. Select a Condition from the list, for example, =, >, <, >=, or <=.
    5. Type a Target value for the quality objective.
    6. Click Save.
  4. To remove an existing quality objective so that it cannot be added to a test plan:
    1. Click the Administration (Administration) icon in the top right portion of the banner and select Manage Project Properties. Then select Quality Objectives.
    2. Select a row in the table.
    3. Click the Delete Row icon (Delete table row).
    4. Click Save.
