Importing test plans

You can import test plans that are saved as local XML files directly into your repository, where they are then available on the Browse Test Plans page.

Before you begin

Ensure that the local XML file to import adheres to the XML schema documentation.

The following example is a basic test plan XML file that adheres to the schema:

<?xml version="1.0"?>
<testplan xmlns="http://jazz.net/xmlns/alm/qm/v0.1/">
  <title xmlns="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Classics Java Application Test Plan</title>
  <description xmlns="http://purl.org/dc/elements/1.1/">Test plan for testing the Classics Java application.</description>
  <state xmlns="http://jazz.net/xmlns/alm/v0.1/">com.ibm.rqm.planning.common.new</state>
  <category xmlns="http://jazz.net/xmlns/alm/qm/v0.1/" term="Product" value="Classics"/>
  <category xmlns="http://jazz.net/xmlns/alm/qm/v0.1/" term="Release" value="1.0"/>
</testplan>

Procedure

  1. In the main menu, click Planning > Import > Test Plan.
  2. Click Browse.
  3. Locate the file, and click Open.
  4. Click Import to import the test plan into the repository.
    Note: Engineering Lifecycle Management links, such as requirement or work item links, cannot be imported.
