Reusing test artifacts

Reuse of artifacts within projects generally relies on referencing. To reuse an artifact between projects, duplication is necessary.

Within a single project, test cases can be reused in different test plans. A particular test case might be referenced in any number of distinct plans to create that same number of distinct test case execution records.

Artifacts can be copied from one project into another, though not linked across projects. This fact is true for both test cases and test suites.

You want to use a test suite from an old project in a new one. To accomplish this task, copy the test suite into the new project by clicking the Duplicate icon on the Browse Test Suitespage. Once duplicated, the copied test suite exists independently of the original one.
