Testing the connection for live reporting

Test the connection between Rational® Reporting for Development Intelligence and the Rational Quality Manager application on Jazz™ Team Server.

Before you begin

You must have configured the rqm*-live.xdc file for live reporting. See Configuring the data source connection for live reporting.

Linux If you are using Ubuntu 10.10, make sure the libstdc++5 file is present.

Procedure

  1. Open the Cognos Business Intelligence web application at http://[host name : port number]/reporting/servlet/dispatch.
  2. Open the Cognos Administration page by clicking Launch > IBM Cognos Administration.
  3. On the Configuration page, click the Data Source Connections link.
  4. Click the RQM data source.
  5. Click the Test the Connection icon on the right of the page.

  6. On the Test the Connection page, click Test. The status of the connection is displayed. If there is no connection to the data source, create a data source connection. See Configuring the data source connection for live reporting.
  7. To test the live reports, click Launch > Cognos Connections.
  8. On the Public Folders page, click Sample Report Definitions > QM > Operation (Live) Reports .

    The two available live reports are listed.
  9. Test the two live reports. Click the Requests by State (Live) report.
  10. Select a project in the list and click Finish

  11. Verify that the report is displaying without any errors:

  12. Click the Work items Stored in RQM Project (Live) report.
  13. Select a project in the list and click Finish
