Importing process descriptions

You can import a process description into a project area or team area, and you can export a process description so that it can be used by other project areas and team areas.

Before you begin

You must be a member of this project area, and have Create a process description permission. The project area must not already contain a process description.


To import a process description:

  1. Navigate to the Project Areas page in the administrative web interface. See Logging in for project administrators and team leads (web).
  2. In the list of active project areas, click a project area to open it in the project area editor. To import a process description into a team area, click the team area that is listed in the Team Area Hierarchy section.
  3. Click the Process Description tab.
  4. Click Import a process description. Click Browse and navigate to the archive file for the process description that you want to import. Click OK.

What to do next

You can now edit the process description and its practices and add practices.
