Creating project areas
You can create a project area in a repository to manage the project deliverables, team structure, process, and schedule.
Sharing the process of a project area
After you create a project area, you can make its process available to other project areas. By sharing a project area process, you can ensure that all project areas across your organization use the same process. You also centralize process maintenance.
Creating timelines, iterations, and iteration types
You can add timelines to your project process. Add iterations at the top level of a timeline or within an existing iteration. The iteration can contain start and end dates.

You can create a team area to assign users in particular roles for work on a timeline or a particular set of deliverables. You can also create a team area within another team area to establish a team hierarchy.
Adding and modifying users as members of project areas
You can add users to a project area or a team area. Project-level users can later be assigned to team areas after those teams are created.
Defining work item categories
Adding attachments to project areas and team areas
You can add files as attachments to project and team areas. You can access and manage these attachments on the Links tab of the area. Team members can save the attachments to their local file systems. These attachments can include an HTML process content archive, which you can link to from the Process Description on a project area or team area Overview page.
Restricting read access to project area, team areas, and artifacts
The IBM Engineering Lifecycle Management products provide several ways to restrict read access to project areas, team areas, and artifacts.
Archiving project areas and team areas
You cannot delete project areas or team areas from a repository, but you can archive them. Archived project areas and team areas can be hidden or displayed in various views, including the Team Organization view and the Team Artifacts view.
Adding associations
You can create an association between a project area and another project area or another type of artifact container. After you establish an association, you can link artifacts, such as work items and plans, between the project area and the target artifact container.
