Accessing local defect and task-quality work items

This topic describes how to set up a local service provider so you can access local defect and task-quality work items that were migrated from version 2.

About this task

When you upgrade from version 2, local defect and task-quality work items will be migrated to version 3. To access these work items, and to create new ones, you must configure a local work item service provider. By doing so, these local work items will appear as links in the Quality Management interface, just like the links to an external work item provider, such as the Change and Configuration Management (CCM) application or Rational® ClearQuest®.

Procedure

  1. Click the Admin icon in the top right portion of the banner and select Manage Project Areas.
  2. Click to open the migrated project area.
  3. Go to the Associations section and click Add to open the Add Association window.
  4. In the Application list, select local(...).
  5. In the Association list, select Uses - Defects.
  6. Under Artifact Containers, select the project area.
  7. Click OK to associate the local project area with itself as the Defects provider and consumer.
  8. Repeat steps 3 and 4.
  9. In the Association list, select Uses - Quality Management Tasks.
  10. Under Artifact Containers, select the project area.
  11. Click OK to associate the local project area with itself as the Task-Quality provider and consumer.
