Repository tools command to copy the database data

Use the copy command to copy data from one database to another using a tar file.


The copy command copies the data from a source repository to a target repository using a .tar file.
Important: You must shut down the server before you run the command.


Attribute Description Required Default

where application is jts, ccm, rm, qm, gc, dcc, or relm.

logFile Path to the log file. No repotools-application_copy.log

where application is jts, ccm, rm, qm, gc, dcc, or relm.

overwrite Whether the file specified by the toFile option is overwritten. Legal values: yes, no. No no
noPrompt Do not prompt before creating the tables prior to importing. No N/A
noVerify Do not perform imported data verification. No N/A


The following example is for Jazz™ Team Server. To use this command for other applications, run these options from the server directory:
  • IBM® Engineering Workflow Management (Change and Configuration Management application): repotools-ccm
  • IBM Engineering Requirements Management DOORS® Next (Requirements Management application): repotools-rm
  • IBM Engineering Test Management (Quality Management application): repotools-qm
  • Global Configuration Management: repotools-gc
  • Data Collection Component: repotools-dcc
  • IBM Engineering Lifecycle Optimization - Engineering Insights: repotools-relm

For Windows operating system Open a command prompt and enter this command:

cd C:\Program Files\IBM\JazzTeamServer\Server\
repotools-jts.bat -copy toFile=C:\export.tar\jts\

For Unix operating systems Open a command line and enter this command:

cd opt/IBM/JazzTeamServer/Server/
./ -copy toFile=opt/export.tar
