Querying design resources

You can use queries to search models and diagrams for specific design resources within a project on the Design Management Server.

About this task

You can use predefined queries to find specific design resources.

You can create queries for your own use or for shared use among team members to search for specific models and diagrams within a project on the Design Management Server. When you create a query, you specify the conditions and the properties of design resources to display on the search result page.

Procedure

  1. To query design resources, complete the following steps:
    1. On the project dashboard, click Designs > Browse > Queries.
    2. Locate the query to use and, in the Actions column, click the Execute Query icon. The search result is displayed on the search result page.
  2. To create a query to search for design resources, complete the following steps
    1. On the project dashboard, click Designs > Create > Query.
    2. In the query editor, in the Query Title field, type a name for the query.
    3. Optional: Give a description for the query.
    4. Click the Add Condition button; then specify search conditions for the query.
    5. Optional: Under Sorting Options, select an option.
    6. Click Save.
    The new query is created and added to the list of available queries.
