Ignore work item history updates when changing an attribute.

Arun Batra (14612427) | asked Jan 15 '13, 2:43 a.m.
I am using the Server Side Java API to regularly update an attribute in a work item. Is it possible to save it in such a way that each change doesn't add a change entry to the work item history tab and doesn't send a change notification to the user (via e-mail or event feeds)?

One can note that this currently happens for the attribute called "Modified Date".

Any hints are helpful...

 Hello Arun,

RTC is actually designed that way. Every change is recorded to provide a complete history for traceability and audibility reasons. Some attribute values such as "Modified Date" are computed by RTC. They are logged but not shown in the history view. I'm not aware of any user-level functionality that could prevent it.

HTH,
Jan.
