Extremely slow boot time on Windows XP

 Hello to all

I have installed RTC Shell component 4.0 in a Windows XP SP3 computer.
Since I installed RTC, the PC boot time is extremely slow.
Does anybody have the same problem?
Does someone solved it?

Thank you in advance

Best regards

Fabrizio

Hi,
By PC boot time, do you mean the time it takes from switching on the system to getting the login screen? If you are referring to perceived slowness after logging in, it could be because of a couple of reasons.

 Hello,

By PC boot time i mean the time from the log in window to the operating system complete loading.
It seems like explorer task can't load for a while. The screen seems freezed without the explorer bar and any icons on the screen. The PC doesn't support any keyboard or mouse command.

Thank you.

Hello,
Can you try the following

  1. Open Team Concert Shell Control Panel.
  2. Click on Manage preferences
  3. Select Other Preferences
  4. Deselect Show Rational Team Concert overlays on files and folders.
  5. Click on Save.
  6. Logout and login again.
and let me know whether that makes any difference to the boot time.

Hello

Thank you for your help.
I made the changes you suggested but nothing seems to be changed.... :(

Any other suggestion?

I forgot to tell the RTC version I'm using: v.4.0.0

Thank you againĀ

Ok Thanks.
