RTC 3.x Is it possible to assign a Validator to an attribute of type Duration?

The Estimate attribute has a default type of Duration. I cannot see how to change the attribute type to something other than Duration (nor do I think I want to given that the estimated versus actual comparisons and other calculations are prominent and driven off the Duration type in muliptle areas in the tool like plans and widgets).

My objective is to add a Validation on the estimate field so that a minumim of 8 hours is entered but a maximum of 40 hours is not exceeded.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Hi Phil,

have you looked at using a script? See https://jazz.net/wiki/bin/view/Main/AttributeCustomization#Accessing_built_in_attributes_of

If you do that you can access the data you want using

WorkItemAttributes.ESTIMATE
WorkItemAttributes.CORRECTED_ESTIMATE
WorkItemAttributes.TIME_SPENT

and get the data in milliseconds..
