How to Add Custom Field Type in Requirement ?

Chandan Jha (911114) | asked Oct 01 '12, 6:12 a.m.

Hi,

I am using RQM 2.0 to create and import my requirements. We can create new  requirements where  we provide :--

Type,  Severity, Owned By, Review Status  etc  under Overview tab.

Similarly can  we add  our  own  custom type (e.g. Project ID) in this Overview tab which is  customized for my  TestProject  for  all  the  Requirements  under this project ?

How to export data  into the  customized field using RQM-Excel-WordImporter add-ins ?

Thanks-

Chandan

Sorry for the delay but the answer is no.  Requirements have always been a specialized artifact even when they were internal to RQM (2.x releases) so what you can do for Test Cases (or other RQM artifacts) cannot be assumed for Requirements.

RQM 2.0 requirement support in the Importer is limited to:

requirement.XLSStartRow
requirement.XLSArtifactID
requirement.dc:title
requirement.dc:description
requirement.jzalm:owner
requirement.dc:creator
requirement.dc:modified
requirement.dc:created

There is no support for customized fields.

But in Test Cases  we can add  Sections.  Similarly is there anyway  we can add fields or section in Requirement.
