I may have overlooked something here, but is there a comprehensive overview about the differences between the eclipse client vs. the web client for process configuration, especially what can be done in the one and not in the other?

Yvo,

I am not aware of a complete list.

To my knowledge there are some things you can not do in the Web UI today.

  • Project and Team Configuration Is missing several menus in the Web UI such as
    • Operational Behavior can not be configured in the web UI (Project and Team)
    • Event handling can not be configured (Project and Team)
  • Configuration data is missing some menus in the Web UI
    • Work Items
      • Create Attribute Customization
      • Configuring value providers and attribute customization for attributes.
    • Planning
      • There is no Web UI editor for the Planning Component
    • Promotion
There are probably a few other things missing in the Web UI.

FYI, operation behavior (preconditions and follow-up actions) configuration is coming to the web UI in 4.0.1, for RQM only though.

I'm not sure if there is documentation specifically for what you're asking.  I did find https://jazz.net/wiki/bin/view/Main/ProcessSpecificationSyntax and https://jazz.net/library/article/1005.
