How can I create and/or manage iterations with the RTC REST API?

 I'm playing with building a utility app in .NET that manages an RTC server using REST queries. I've had success with the API for work items and I can get a list of iteration resources, but I can't find anything that would let me ask the server to create an iteration. It should be possible because the RTC client does it, but I can find no documentation or service resource to tell me the method. Has anyone tried to do this and if so what am I missing?

I had the similar situation before. Unfortunately, create/update iteration is not possible at this moment. Here is enhancement request which I raised.

 Allow 'POST' and 'PUT' operation for timeline in timeline collection and iteration in iteration collections (179352)
