Build snapshot time stamp: is this time from Eclipse client or it is from Build Engine machine?

Don Yang (7.7k21109138) | asked Jul 25 '12, 3:58 a.m.
Our user uses RTC3013.
When we specify a workspace for the build, a snapshot will be taken automatically.
After build is run, we can go to workspace and right click to show the snapshot.
We can see BuildDefinitionName_20120724_1046 timestamp attached to the snapshot name and the date created will show the time as 2012--7-24 10:46.

My question is if our build engine is on another machine, will the timestamp of snapshot
from Eclipse Client where I start Build Request or it should be where the build engine is running?

We have see some unexpected result here and want to know what is expected place(machine) we should check with?

(or since we should sync the client and build engine machine's time hence it does not matter. if they are not synced, what should we expect)

Thanks in advance.

Hi Don Yang,

Correct, the date/time of the RTC-server is being used (start time, stop time, snapshot time).

Bernd.

Thanks Bernd for the info.

Do you mean the date/time stamp is from RTC server and Not Eclipse client or Build engine machines if they are on different machines? Can you please confirm? Thanks a lot.
