What is the "score" value in work item query resul

Maren Nelson (611611) | asked Sep 02 '08, 9:32 p.m.
I can add a column to a work item query result that is labeled "Score", but I don't know what is being scored :-) I was hoping this would be a % of the work done for the item, but when I add the column to a query result of open work items with effort logged against them, the score is 0% for all of them.

The score is only relevant to queries that have a fulltext-condition (e.g. "Fulltext contains 'team'"). A fulltext condition will cause a Lucene-Search to be performed which returns a score based on the likelyness of the resulting items to match the fulltext-condition.

The score is used for full text queries and states how well the work
item matched the query. For structured queries, the score is not used.

This is good to know (was hoping it was something else though :-). Thanks for clarifying. You might want to put this info in the RTC help. I couldn't find any reference to Score there... had even checked this forum.

Yes it should be added to the docs.
