Switching from 'static' to floating license type server

Doug Verhun (75169) | asked Jun 13 '12, 10:32 a.m.

Our current license setup uses 'static' CAL licenses for RTC (meaning they're not floating).  When going to install a set of floating trial licenses for RQM, it warns me saying that the server will be converted to a floating license server.  Will changing to a floating license server impact the RTC users that have a 'static' license type?  From what I understand these licenses would be converted to floating (which is fine); but I just want to make sure there wouldn't be an interruption of service or issues arising from this switch.

Thanks in advance,

Doug

No, It will still work. You might want to make the JTS the floating server. You can also install and point to a completely different server as license server. The Jazz servers just enable to be a floating server, when uploading a floating license.
