Moving a work item from a no longer existing state

Dwayne Bullock (1132) | asked Aug 05 '08, 2:49 p.m.
One of our project managers created a customized process and switched an already existing iteration over to this new process. Now some of the work items are showing states such as .state.S3 and .state.S4. Inside of RTC the action button shows greyed out and says Unitialized. Does anyone know how I go about changing these work items from the none existing states to a state that exists in the new process.

You can reintroduce a state with the same id and some action going to another existing state to work around this issue. I have opened https://jazz.net/jazz/resource/itemName/com.ibm.team.workitem.WorkItem/59667 to track this issue.

I found another solution also. You can change the work items type, save it, and change it back. That will drop it into the default state for the work item.
