How to get only certain attributes of a data item

Vibha Sinha (1643610) | asked Aug 04 '08, 8:25 a.m.
I have created a IAuditable type of data item in my ecore and am using the following call to get the previous states of the item:

repositoryItemService.fetchStates(handles, IRepositoryItemService.COMPLETE);

However, I only need to get a subset of the attributes. Some of the attributes I want are in a contained child item of the data item (helper item). How do I specify this in the above call ?

How do I specify attribute of child items in the following call -
repositoryItemService.fetchStates(handles, new String[] {"stateId", "child item.child attribute"});

Thanks a lot,

Fetching only part of a helper item for an arbitrary state is not
supported in 1.0. If you are only interested in the data from the most
current state of each item, then you can use IDataQuery to fetch only
the data you want (rather than the full items).
