We have a build process, integrated with Rational Build Forge, that is executed by a generic ID. Members of the project don't have the right to promote snapshots created during the build, because they don't own the workspace. I, as an RTC Admin, can promote the snapshot.

How can we allow members of the Project Area to promote snapshots that were generated as a result of an automated build process?

If there was a way to customize the snapshot being created through the jbe we might be able to promote during our builds, but that is a feature really missing from IBM.

As of RTC 6.0.5 only administrators and the owner of the build workspace can change the owner of build snapshot.
Please feel free to open an RFE or enhancement work item.

Notes:
-If you are using the Post-Build Deliver post-build participant, then there is an option to have this done automatically, this was made available in RTC 4.0 in Provide option for post-build deliver to change owner of build snapshot to the deliver target (159838))
-The Jenkins plugin allows you to specify the snapshot owner. This was added in: For build snapshot configuration, provide options to specify the project area/team area and the owner workspace/stream (392790)
-There was an RFE to request that snapshots be renamed by anyone, but this was rejected.See:
Enable snapshot rename by role without regard to workspace ownership (305644)

Provide option for post-build deliver to change owner of build snapshot to the deliver target (159838)
Add a regular (i.e. "merge" rather than "replace") deliver option for the post-build deliver follow-up action (194461)

Thank for the link, and it appears at some time we will be able to promote snapshots during our builds, but in order to that we need a way to customize the snapshot name, because the one currently created between RTC/Build Forge is totally useless, meaningless, and hard to predict: "FCRMCerts Build_cmMasterLinux_PRD3 (BUILD_7 as RTC93Builds) for 43571019" this is the snapshot generated by RTC for one of our builds. We can not change this currentl.

Back to my original question, can is there a way to allow someone with certain rolls/permissions the ability to promote a snapshot generated during an automated build process.
