Restricting defect transitions to roles ...

Zeeshan Ahmed Khan (4124) | asked Oct 29 '11, 2:36 a.m.
Hi all,

I need to know how we can use restrict the transitions of defect workflow states to specific project roles.

e.g. a user having a developer role can change the status from New to Start Working to Fixed. Whereas the user having the Tester role will be allowed to change the status from Fixed to Resolved or Reopened.

Thanks.

In the Eclipse client:
- open the project area editor
- select the process configuration page
- select Configuration -> Team_Configuration -> Permissions
- in the Permitted_actions section, under Save_Work_Item ->
Trigger_a_workflow_action

You can individually specify which roles can perform which state
transitions.

Cheers,
Geoff

Thanks Geoff,

I am now able to apply role based transition permissions.
