Define period for Out of Office tasks

Markus Schille (7611) | asked Jul 05 '07, 6:01 a.m.
It is possible to define out of office task for one or several days. It will be good to improve the handling in the way that it is possible to define absent periods also for some hours. Background is the participation of team members in meetings where they can not be allocated in the full extend. To have this at least from a planning perspective visible will be a very good improvement for the team planning.

Hi there,

first of all thank you for your feedback.
We have the implementation of the work time management features you
mentioned on our plan. For the time being, we removed the Out of Office
tasks due to the limited flexibility. They will be replaced by a more
flexible work time management which will allow to define an users
working hours, out of office time spans, an user's availability to a
team in percents etc..
As the infrastructure required to implement this functionality is not
yet ready, we simply assumed Monday to Friday, 9 to 5 working hours.

Cheers,
MikeS

Hallo Michael,

sounds to me that the new planning abilities will provide the proposed functionality. You mention that you assumed Monday to Friday, 9 to 5 as working hours. What about activities planned for a weekend like server maintenance. Major functional updates in an application which take place during weekends to limit the disturbance for the user. It will be great to define the working hours and days free in a configuration.

I am looking forward to test the new functionality.

Thanks for the information and kind regards, Markus
