Error Installing RTC 3.0.1 when downloaded from Jazz.net
Most of the users who are downloading the client from Jazz.net link are facing issue when installing RTC 3.0.1

Most of the users who are downloading the client from Jazz.net link are facing issue when installing RTC 3.0.1 Hi Check the zip file is good first - and make sure you use a tool like 7zip to do it. Also - when you do unzip, make sure it is to a top level directory so you don't run out of path space. Also - try and use a download manager if you can. I have downloaded the client (but not in the last few weeks) - and it was good for me. anthony |

But from when the Jazz.net was down in the last weekend and now when we download and try installing we are seeing this issue |
This is a known problem in the scenario "Windows + local repository". Windows does not handle long paths well.
The solution to this problem is to extract the zip content into a path with less characters ("C:\install" is good choice instead of "C:\Documents and Settings\Administrator\My Documents\Downloads\RTC-Eclipse-Client-repo-3.0.1\im\repo"). Note that since 3.0.1 we have a "Tip" in the https://jazz.net/downloads/rational-team-concert/releases/3.0.1?p=allDownloads page to indicate that paths with more than 100 characters should be avoided. This should be enough to correct the problem, if not, let me know. |
