Demo videos: Creating a simple list and a dimensional bar ch
Hello.
My colleague Jeff Nevicosi created these two videos for creating reports in RRDI that I also want to share with the community. The first video shows how to create a very simple list report of related elements. I was recorded with Common Reporting 1.0, but the same steps still apply with the exception of the location of the report template, which is now located in Public Folders > Report Template > RI Report Template in RRDI and Insight 1.0.1.1: http://blog.haumer.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/SimpleListReport/ The second video shows how to create a bar chart using a metric and how to add a parameter prompt that allows filtering along a dimension of that metric: http://blog.haumer.net/wp-content/uploads/2011/06/DimensionalBarChartReport/ Let us know if you find these videos useful and what other types of videos you would like to see. Best regards, Peter Haumer. |

Thanks! Peter, All the examples I've seen for RRDI have been using RQM reports, which seem to be a lot more straightforward in finding the data in the DW. When I try those sample they always work for me and return the data. But for CCM I have a hard time finding the right data for my reports. For example, a simple list report with all the Tasks in our project. I see columns called Task and entries for Task Metrics but when I add those into the List report nothing is returned....even though we have over 1000 tasks in our project. I looked at the 2 examples for CCM reports (Story Points) and the queries behind them look pretty complicated. Are there any simple report examples for reporting with CCM? Or is there a place we can go to see where our Work Item info is stored in the data warehouse? |
Hello.
One challenge when getting started with reporting is to understand the mapping of specific CLM app concepts to the application independent reporting data model provided for RRDI/Insight. This model was created to capture the data of all of Rational's products and therefore certain generalization have been done. Some concepts of the reporting model are not in use for CLM. Some have been matched to concepts with other names. In your case you find all work items of all types in the Request query subject. The same query subject would be used for ClearQuest requests as well and you could write reports that show the data from both tools. The Task query subject is not in use for CLM. It is used for other planning tools. We posted the specific mappings provided by the CLM apps to the warehouse and reporting data model as sheets for you to use here: https://jazz.net/wiki/bin/view/Main/CALMReportingDataModelDetails. Hope these help, Peter Haumer. |
Hello. Thanks Peter, I am starting to see the CCM data now. I tried the link you provided, but after logging in I get an Access Denied error. Is it not available for use yet? |
I think my Thunderbird messed up the hyperlink. If you just copy paste
the URL without the "." at the end it will work. Peter. |
