Help Read Permissions at Team Area Level
I'm trying configure a project area to use read permissions at team area level.
I've have readed in the document "what's new in rtc 3.0.1" and I read the next "Company ABC can read all work items in all team areas under their Project Area" but I can't configure that in my example project area, I'm using a sandbox project, the name is "Example project Area". "Example project Area" has 1 user called "User_PA". Also i've created the team area "Team Area1" with a different user called "User_TA1", this team area is associate to category "Team Area1 Category" and I've configured this category with read's restrictions. If I understand well the document, User_PA can read all WI created and associated with "Team Area1" and User_TA1 only can read WI of "Team Area1" but he can't read WI created outside it. Is it True? Well, In my tests User_PA can't read WI of "Team Area1 Category" and he is member of project Area "Example project Area" but in the document says that User_PA can read it. Please, can anyone help me? Thanks and best regards, Ramn Cao |

FORUM ADMINISTRATOR / FORUM MODERATOR / JAZZ DEVELOPER I'm trying configure a project area to use read permissions at team area level. When you restrict your work item category's access to members of the team area, only members of that team area and child teams can access it. Members of parent teams (and the project) currently do not have access. This is one of the scenarios we're currently considering for our 2012 release. - Jared |
Hi Jared !,
First of all, thanks for your reply. With your reply I don't understand the slide 14 of that document https://jazz.net/library/presentation/645. "Each supplier has a team area Each member of that team area Can read work items in their team area but not in the others." "Company ABC can read all work items in all team areas under their Project Area" How I can implement this scenario?. Thanks, Ramn Cao |

I believe the second sentence is incorrect.
It should have said "Each member of a supplier team area can also read all work items in its parent team/project areas, such as the ABC project area". So you can say "only this team area and all children of this team area can see work items in this team area", but you cannot currently say "only this team area and all parents of this team area can see work items in this team area".
