User Administration / LDAP - removing users when they leave

Steve Cotugno (41159) | asked Apr 20 '11, 2:49 a.m.
Hello,

What happens if an LDAP user is removed from the LDAP group (jazzUser, etc) and that user is in the Jazz Team Server Repository? What happens if that user also is a member of an RTC Project?

How does RTC handle this situation.

Thanks,
Steve

User id should not be deleted to preserve the history of the artifacts.
You can archive the user id when the user leaves the organisation.
Take care of the work assignment when you archive the user, Ensure it is 0% so that the archived user does not contribute to the team load.

Do you have to manually archive the user when a user is removed from the LDAP group? Or when RTC syncs with LDAP, does it automatically, does it recognize the user is no longer in the LDAP group and achieve the user automatically?

Regarding the work items that are assigned to the archived user, we would query for open and in progress work items assigned to that user and re-assign to someone else?

Thanks,
Steve

System will not archive the user automatically even in LDAP syncs. You will have to manually archive those users.

Query has an option to choose archived users. Click on "Show archive" option to get the list of archived users in the query list
