Trying to update RAM client 7.2.x on RSA 7.5.5.1
We updated our RAM server to 7.5. Currently have RAM Client 7.2 installed and won't connect anymore. Trying to upgrade the RAM Client to 7.5.1. However, I'm getting dependency errors from the update site.

Did you select the category that said must be used to migrate from 7.2
to 7.5? It says exactly: Required for existing 7.2.0.1 or earlier clients If current Rational Asset Manager client installation is 7.2.0.1 or before, then this category is required and must be selected. -- Rich Kulp Rational Asset Manager developer |
I uninstalled the RAM 7.2 client completely and installed the RAM 7.5 client. After a while, a couple of refreshes and a restart of RSA, I am now able to connect to both. Not sure why I was having trouble connecting to RAM 2.0 earlier.

I, too, am faced with upgrading my 7.2 client (which was installed from the previous RAM 7.2 server update site). Now that the server has been upgraded to RAM 7.5, I tried to upgrade via Eclipse and the new update site but there are dependency conflicts that cannot be resolved. What is the proper way to do this upgrade?

A 7.5.0.x client should be able to connect to a 7.2.0.x server. Can you
please make sure there are no firewalls involved? Also can you please provide any client logs containing exceptions when you try to connect? Regards, Srimanth. On 1/26/2011 4:08 PM, mpayne2 wrote: I just uninstalled the 7.2 client and installed the 7.5 client and |
I just uninstalled the 7.2 client and installed the 7.5 client and seems to work. However, it doesn't seem 7.5 is backward compatible to 7.2? I can no longer connect to 7.2 RAM server. It says the service is unavailable. When I look at my other RSA development environment that I didn't upgrade the RAM client yet, it can still connect to 7.2 server.
