Is it possible to delete discussions from workitem

Narayanan Potti (27037279) | asked Dec 10 '10, 12:20 p.m.
Details on my RTC environment:
Jazz Team Server 1.0.0.2 iFix 2 (I20100331-2220)
Rational Team Concert - 2.0.0.2 iFix 2 (I20100331-2220)

I am getting requests from users to delete certain discussions from RTC workitems. Is it possible to delete discussions from a workitem ? I would greatly appreciate any help with this.

Thank You
NP

If you belong to the JazzAdmin group, you are allowed to delete
individual comments in a work item discussion.

But note that the comment still exists in the history of the work item,
so it isn't really "gone" (that can be either a good or a bad thing :-).

Cheers,
Geoff

Hello,

Is that still possible in 3.0.1? I am in the JazzAdmin Group but can't see the option on a User Story to remove the comment from the UI...

Many thanks,
Claire

I checked, and this operation does exist in 4.0, but haven't had a
chance to verify it is in 3.0.1 (but I am reasonably confident that it
is). Note that this function appears to only be available from the
Eclipse client, not the web client. The function is "empty comment".
Also note that in 4.0, the text of the deleted comment does not appear
in the "history view" of the work item, so unless the emptied comment
text is available through some API call, it appears to be really gone.

Cheers,
Geoff

 Hi,

Probably bringing alive a dead thread here.

Do we have an API to remove the comments from the work items?

Please advise.

Thank you,
