[3.0] Use a Derby-based JTS as a floating license server?

I have never tried a floating license server on Derby with 3.0 I don't think it would not work though.

I have installed both JTS and CCM on Derby and you are limited to 10 users. I haven't tried JTS only, but would assume the same effect, because I think it really does not know which DB CCM uses. I would suggest to use the included DB2 license for JTS.

What is the background of the question?

Can I use a plain JTS installation to act as a floating license server for RTC and other products? If so - does the installation on Derby limit me to a maximum of 10 floating licenses?

Customer has used a Derby-based RTC 2.x instance purely as a floating license server. Very quick to restore from backup (one unzip) if anything happens to that server.

They do not want to use this JTS instance for any work - just as a floating license server

when I unregister CCM I see still:

Rational Jazz Team Server Enterprise is designed for enterprise teams, and has no predefined limit on the number of users, except when used with Derby databases, where it is limited to 10 users with counted licenses.

on the JTS server and habe only 10 licenses. Maybe not if the consuming server has DB2. I can't try it out today with a DB2 CCM server. I will forward this post to someone who might be able to.

So this implies we can't use a Derby-based JTS installation as a license server. If we can confirm this with development - that would be useful.
