Filter values of Owner attribute based on WI status?

Yes, looks like Default Value Provider can filter contributor's list by Role or scripted Value Provider to depend on status attribute. But ther's no way to combine.
It's not clear from this article how to use Dojo to :
- reach something except workitem data (e.g. Contributors properties)
- "redirect" to other Value Provider depending on other attribite Values
- get current list of possible values for any attribute

So it may be possible to script "static" lists for every state(or copy from other attributes), but not to filter dynamically, e.g. by Role.

Any updates about such use case in RTC 3.0.1?

..and are there any updates about such use case in RTC 2012?
