Is it possible to add work item subscriber through REST API?

Subscribers collection is marked as modifiable at the wiki page: https://jazz.net/wiki/bin/view/Main/ResourceOrientedWorkItemAPIv2

Although every attempt to modify this collections using PUT/POST results to response 405: Method Not Allowed.
At the same time modifying links collections and POSTing to comments collection works fine.
