jazzignore usage - Visual Studio

Yaron Norani (47267065) | asked Jul 26 '10, 2:38 a.m.
Hello,

I am using RTC 2.0.0.2 IFIX3 and VS 2005.
I have configured the jazzignore to ignore dll's.
However, I have several 3rd party dll's within my project that I would like to be sourced control.
What is the procedure for enabling that?

Thanks,

Yaron Norani

hello,

I have got the message.
I will implement the workaround for now.

Can you add it as an enhancement request?

Thanks a lot,

From J-M:

We don't have this support, it makes sense as an enhancement request. In the mean time what we do most often is remove the rule, then checkin and deliver, the add the rule back. I'm not in the office this week, so if you could respond to the forum it would be great.

Hello,

Any news with that?

Thanks

Hmm...not as far as my knowledge goes, but I'll let J-M answer this one.

Hello,

Thnaks for the response.
Is there a way to perform the oposite.
I mean, to maintain the global jazzignore that will ignore the dll's for the whole directory structure, and to have a specific jazzignore rules for one folder that will Exclude it, and allow dll's in this folder to be sourced controlled?

Thanks,

Yaron

Hi Yaron,

If you have created a global(recursive) rule to ignore dlls, you'll need to remove that, and add local ignore rules in the folders that you want the dlls to be ignored from Jazz source control.
