Is there a way to either

(1) automatically set a default work item owner when a new work item
gets created?

(2) always send an email to a predefined defined set of people whenever
a defect gets created?

Hi Geoff,

we currently don't support setting a default owner on new work items, I have opened enhancement 45859 to track this. The more general request seems to be that users need a way track incoming work items.

Workitem 35373 addresses Sachin's second point (about sending email).
What about the first point ... automatically setting a default owner ...
