RadRails with 1.0beta2a

Hi all,

I'm working with a "skunkworks" Ruby on Rails application and have proposed we throw Jazz into the mix to get the project team familiar with the tooling.

We're using the Aptana environment, and in theory, the plugin should work with the Eclipse 3.3 base of Jazz. Unfortunately, this isn't the case.

Rather than bore you with the details,

Has anyone got the Aptana tooling working with Jazz?

Thanks,

Todd

I like the details...

stack traces, symptoms, jazz builds being tested, how was it installed?

I theory it should just work...

Some people have gotten a partial install of Aptana working with Jazz.
See the Aptana note on this wiki:

I don't know why the full install fails or what you lose by disabling
"Eclipse Integration" item.

I think I got it working...

I think the trick was to do the "-clean" on the application parameters, but before doing that I added the Aptana update site (needed for RadRails dependencies):

http://update.aptana.com/update/3.2/

then added the RadRails update site:

http://update.aptana.com/install/rails/3.2

then selected the RadRails plugin (then "Select Required"). I'm using the binary Ruby rather than JRuby that comes with Aptana, but I was able to add Gems and didn't get the peculiar error dialogs.

I don't need the full Aptana environment (and doing things the normal way failed), which is why I installed this way, but I think the "-clean" is what did the trick. I had a similar problem when installing the WTP over top of Jazz in the past.
