Loading a Snapshot from a Workspace

Here's a newbie question about snapshots:

I have access to a public repository workspace that contains snapshots for each build that was made. I want to load a particular snapshot in that workspace into my local workspace, using the command line scm command (I can't use the Eclipse client on this system).

I can't find any way to specify a snapshot when doing a load. Without being able to load a particular snapshot, then what good is a snapshot? Am I just missing something? Or can the snapshots only be accessed via the Eclipse client?

Okay, I got around this by creating a new repository workspace from the snapshot of the other workspace, and then loading from the new workspace. Seems like an unnecessary extra step to me, but that's just my humble newbie opinion!
