Migrate Process Configuration between versions
Is it possible to export a process configuration from 1.0.x and import that Process Configuration into 2.0.x?
We have a customized process in 1.0.x that will be added to an existing RTC 2.0.x implementation. Is this possible or do we need to upgrade the 1.x instance to to 2.x prior to export/import? |

This migration wasn't build into the 2.x release, but there is a separate tool you can download the migrate your exported template, available from the "All Downloads" tab of the RTC 2.0.0.2 release page: https://jazz.net/downloads/rational-team-concert/releases/2.0.0.2? p=allDownloads Scroll down to the Incubators section toward the bottom of the page and download the "Process Template Migration Application" for your platform. There is an article describing how to use this tool here: http://jazz.net/library/article/346 -- Jared Burns Jazz Process Team |
Hello,
The repository from which you are exporting the process template should be migrated to the version you will be importing the template into before you export the template. The reason for this is that the syntax of the process configuration has changed between RTC 1.0.x and 2.0.x. Running the migration updates the configuration syntax so that RTC 2.0.x can read it.
