About RequisitePro to Rational Team Concert Connector

In Setting up a synchronization rule step you use the RQS file in connection info.

Specify the name of the connection, the RequisitePro project file location, and login credentials, as well as the target project area.

Could I use the ReqPro Web URL instead of RQS file?

Is it supported?

Hi

Unfortunately its not using the REST api's - so it has to use the actual rpoject file, and you need file system access to it.

Hi Steve,

We created the requirements and use cases in the RRC, and use the ReqPro only to define the traceability matrix and attributes for the use case.

The RRC and RQM require ReqPro Web for ALM integration, and ReqPro Web requires access to the RQS files to work.

Then we installed the ReqPro Web and put RQS files on the same server/disk. The users access to ReqPro is only through ReqPro Web because it is sufficient to create the matrix and integrate to another tools (ALM). It's not necessary install ReqPro Client in users PC's for this case.

So, Unfortunately we don't have access to reqpro file (RQS) today and this new connector doesn't work in this kind of environment. Perhaps this can be solved with a network file share =) (I don't test it).

But can I request an enhancement to use REST? (like RRC and RQM integration).
Where can I request this enhancement? In RTC Project or exist another specific project?

Thanks!

Hi Bruno

You should probably raise a normal enhancement request with IBM tech support at this stage. ReqPro is not on jazz.net yet.

Hi Anthony

This print is from RTC.
It has to be changed. I shouldn't open this enhancement in RTC?

The RTC team, in general, doesn't supply an ExternalManager for any product, except CQ, so entering an enhancement request wouldn't be useful.

You can either write one yourself (with our help) or look into 3rd party offerings (see http://jazz.net/community/ensemble/index.jsp?p=partnerPlugins) for some examples.

hmmm, I don't want to write a connector for this case because it already has done:

http://jazz.net/library/article/392

I only suggested an improvement for this connector (support REST), but I don't know what Project Area I can send this enhancement.

If the suggestion to use REST in this integration is not a good idea or I can't open a enhancement for this jazz.net connector, ok, sorry.

I'm just trying to collaborate to make a better product.

Anyway, you have been done a great job with RTC. Thanks!

Hi bruno

With the incubators - then they're not supported.

However the best way to make requests is to ask me :-)

I've got it noted, and I'll try and and add it in, and get it reposted. not sure what the timsescales will be - a few weeks at best.

Please email me on steve.arnold@uk.ibm.com in a few weeks to check on progress.

Steve

Our team does not support any other "connector" other than the CQ connector and the Interop Framework. Since Steve wrote the ReqPro Connector, he is the only one who could be available to enhance it (which he seems to be interested in - Thanks, Steve!).

I was just pointing out that you could alter the connector he wrote to communicate with a ReqPro server, instead of reading a ReqPro file, if Steve was not interested.
