Formula behind Total License Token Usage
Hello Team,
For licensing we are using Flexnet server and using a logs we are creating a report for how many tokens are getting use per day out of total tokens, I found the report total license tokan usage report but that report has less functionality to show the exact data, hence I want to create same report with more functinality in excel,
Question is that what is the exact formula is behind that so I can use and create same report.

The License Administration and Reporting Tool is quite good for all sorts of reports on license and token usage - have you tried that? ELM_ User selected this answer as the correct answer

The Flexera license logs are a standard format, so I think it would be worth a shot trying the ART Hi David, thanks for this idea, but can you please give me an logic also that working behind this report

It's not a single report - it's a whole server ingesting data that can then be reported on in many different ways.
The base data is taken from the Flexera logs so, if you want to do it yourself, download the license server log and have a look at the format. Flexera also have information on this if you Google. It's basically timestamps, license action, license type and name, user id, and user action that caused the license action

This is a forum, there is only so much we can do. I am not a license expert, but my assumption would be, you use the standard tools supported in the context and the reports available for that. If you want to use other tools, or create custom reports, you might have to find out the information on your own.
It you think this is a product defect, you can try to open a case with support. You can also approach your sales representative and start a discussion with them, they can reach out to other resources.
I'd also like to point out that you are not using the IBM Rational License Server - you're using the generic FlexNet server, and yet you're asking questions on an IBM forum.
I don't know how much more explicit I could be about the license log file format, about the fact that the IBM Administration and Reporting tool will read that format, and about how you should at least try that before being strange and disappointed.
Maybe you should try asking your questions in the FlexNet forums since that's the tool you're using for your license management?

Thank you for your explanation and for the support provided by this forum. I have thoroughly explored all available resources to explain IBM ELM's default report to management. Unfortunately, I couldn't find the specific logic behind the default report, which is why I sought help here to better understand it. I apologize if my previous words caused any misunderstanding, as that was not my intention. Thanks again for your assistance.

When you say "IBM ELM's default report" - what exactly do you mean? There is no default report as such so I'm a bit confused as to what you're referring to
