A Boolean attribute of workitems is not displaying in RTC eclipse
All,
We have added a new attribute of type Boolean for defect workitem type for an existing project area. The attribute is displayed for all existing and new workitems in web client. But the attribute is not displaying for workitems which are of closed state before adding this attribute in eclipse client, whereas we are able to view the attribute in web client for same workitem. Please let us know if this is expected behavior for closed workitem and how to overcome this issue.
RTC Version: 6.0.6.1
RTC Eclipse client : 6.0.6.1
Thanks,
Vinay

A work item has only the attributes that are defined when it was created.
If a custom attribute is created, only work items created after the custom attribute was added to the project area, have a value for the . In the Eclipse client, there is a button "Check attributes usage in repository", that you can use to force the addition of all attributes that are not on every work item they are supposed to be. This is called "Synchronize Attributes" Be aware of email notifications this can cause.
If an attribute is not there, it is up to the attribute presentation of the editor presentation if it shows something or not. There can be differences in the clients. What you also can do, is to check the attribute presentation in the editor presentation. There is an specific set of flags to control how attributes that are not existing are displayed (or not).
It is possible that the clients behave differently. I would suggest to decide to define a specific behavior or to synchronize the attributes.
If you disagree, please open a case with support.
