Hello Team,

We are planning to change the database from MSSQL 2012 to Oracle 19 of CLM (6.0.6.1) for better performance and upgrade the ELM environment to 7.0.1.

In order for better estimates need some inputs from folks who have already performed these activities.
  1. How long will it take to export the data of 2 TB size from MSSQL 2012
  2. How long will it take to import the same data of 2 TB to Orcale 19
Rebuilding the incidces is also an mandatrory part of the upgradation process, Any rough estimates to process below data size will be helpfull:
  1. RM DB size : 400 GB
  2. CCM DB Size: 800 GB
Note: Each server CCM,RM and Database server has 64GB of RAM

Please let me know if you need any addtional details.

Thank you in Advance

Regards,
Amit G

Amit, you really, really want to clone and server rename your current environment into an isolated test setup and then test the upgrade/the DB migration.

You want to do that for the following reasons
  1. Create a documented step by step description
  2. Find issues and how to deal with them before you try a productive upgrade
  3. Test the process against your data and be able to test everything works fine.
  4. Understand the time involved e.g. DB migration, upgrade, reindex etc.
I have no numbers for your sizes above and I understand that there are very different numbers for different users because of the data types and versions involved.
