How to handle the customer server side plugins during a RTC Upgrade Migration?

Rainer Poertner (113) | asked Jul 28 '20, 9:25 a.m.

 Hi,

actually we have to remove all customer server side plugins before starting the RTC Upgrade Migration and afterwards we have to re-install all customer server side plugins again.

Otherwise you will get the error:
"RJAZ0288E The "de.customer.features" profile feature could not be installed from the "file:.../etc/rtc/ccm/sites/customer-update-ite" update site that is referenced in the ".../etc/rtc/ccm/provision_profiles/customer-update-site.ini" profile file.
CRJAZ1728E A Repository Tools error occurred. For more information, see this log file: .../var/rtc/logs/repotools-ccm_createTables_CCMDB.log" and  the message "CRJAZ1728E A Repository Tools error occurred" in the create table job"

So it would be fine and helpful if there is a possibility to leave the customer server side plugin installed during the upgrade, without getting these error messages?

Any ideas?

Thanks and best regards,
Rainer

During the upgrade process, any custom server side plugins need to be disabled.  This entails moving/removing the custom .ini file from the "sites" directory.  The error above shows that the .ini file is in place, but the plugin jar files are missing which is leading to the error.

I have never in 12+ years heard that this would be necessary or happening. I would suggest to contact support and open a case providing the version numbers, logs etc.
