Change in Database size after CLM version upgrade 4.0.7 to 6.0.6.1

 Hi,

Recently I moved CLM applications to new server and upgraded CLM version from 4.0.7 to 5.0.2 and then 6.0.6.1
In parallel I updated DB2 version from 9.7 to 10.5 and then to 11.1

    FYI, I used upgrade scripts in CLM Migration.

After migration, I'm comparing database size of CCM, QM, DW,JTS

After migration I see increase in database sizes for CCM,JTS,QM and decrease in database size of DW database.

Is there any reason for this behavior ?

Thank you.

Regards,
Narasimha.

how much increase do you see., can you share some numbers.,

also, after the upgrade, did you run any db maintenance operations., operations like db reorg and dbstats may help reclaim any temp/fragmented spaces that are making the db size show larger than actually in use...

   Hi Dinesh,

No I didn't ran any db commands.
Below find DB sizes

JTS DB --> 0.88 GB (CLM V 4.0.7)  ; 1.07 GB (CLM 6.0.6.1)
CCM DB --> 2.51 GB (CLM V 4.0.7)  ; 3.17 GB (CLM 6.0.6.1)
QM DB --> 3.25 GB (CLM V 4.0.7)  ; 3.6 GB (CLM 6.0.6.1)
DW DB --> 14.35 GB (CLM V 4.0.7)  ; 13.88 GB (CLM 6.0.6.1)

Thank you for your inputs.

Regards,
Narasimha.

JAZZ DEVELOPER

ok., DW is decreased and the other apps increased marginally, which may just be due to schema changes and also since you haven't run db maintenance activities, this may just be fragmentation and temporary stuff...

 This isn't a considerable change.

Every one of hundreds of workitems that were delievered between 407 and 6061 can potentially change the DB structure or data, resulting in a slight DB size change. These are implementation details of the system and not a cause for concern.

 Hi Piotr,

Thank you for your response.
JTS, CCM, QM DBs size increased after migration to 6.0.6.1 --> not much concern
 but DW (data warehouse) DB size decreased after migration to 6.0.6.1

I'm concern on DB size change for DW (data warehouse).
are there any specific reason for DW size change ?

Regards,
Narasimha.
