How do I export the merged cells on Jazz Report Builder?

Rohith Kuntumalla (111) | asked Nov 28 '19, 1:28 a.m.

I have merged cells of the same items and the linked items will show as split cells within the parent item in a separate column.

For e.g. As shown with Req_A.

Report Preview after "Run Report" on Report Builder:
Name  | Attr_X | Attr_Y | Attr_Z | Link_to_Req_L | Link_to_Req_K
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Req_A | $$$$$  | %%%  | &&&&  |      Req_D           |        Req_E
            |             |             |            |       Req_F          |
            |             |             |            |       Req_G          |
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Req_B | #####  | #####  | ##### |      Req_D           |        Req_E

However when I try to export this view the merge disappears and is replaced with the text.

Excel Export from Report Builder:
Name  | Attr_X | Attr_Y | Attr_Z | Link_to_Req_L | Link_to_Req_K
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Req_A | $$$$$  | %%%  | &&&&  |      Req_D           |        Req_E
Req_A | $$$$$  | %%%  | &&&&  |      Req_F           |        Req_E
Req_A | $$$$$  | %%%  | &&&&  |      Req_G           |        Req_E
---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Req_B | #####  | #####  | ##### |      Req_D           |        Req_E

So I am left with duplicated rows with slightly different combinations of the linked items.

However s there a way to export the exactly previewed report?

 You could try to export in another format  (PDF, Word, HTML) and see if that gives you what you're looking for?

 Hello,

"Sometimes" I am able to copy and paste in to excel from the report builder results page and it keeps the formatting.

Hi Rohith,

JRS export provides data for additional analysis and it does not provided formatted layer. You get raw data and you need to use MS Excel feature to format it to be the same as with the JRS. In summary, JRS formatting is available as long as you stay within Report Builder.
