DOORS NG : best pratices to insert illustration in artifact and generate table of illustration with RPE ?

Jean-François CHAPELLE (5412) | asked Aug 01 '19, 10:04 a.m.

Under DOORS NG, the documents we write contain illustrations and tables (in artifacts). Could you give us some good practice to put a caption on these pieces of information and then generate a table of illustrations or a tables table with RPE ?

What we chose to do was to add an artifact in DOORS NG after the illustration or table of a specific type and then use that to generate the caption in RPE.

This allows the caption to be shown within DOORS NG Module view as well as in the generated document.

I would suggest to have the illustrations and tables in there own Artifact.
Those artifacts should be of a specific type "Illustration" and "Table" (Artifact Format : text).
If you prefer you could have an attribute that marks them as "Illustrations" or "Table".

In RPE, since you can now have a way to determine that the artifact is an illustrations or a tables. You can in that case add a caption after rendering artifact. The caption text could be the artifact title.

Is that help?
