RTC 6.0.2 ifix15

Using Eclipse Luna our internal team can access the IBM RTC Project Area (Project1) and perform check out by browsing through the folder, as per the Development Team request, Internal Team is releasing the file as requested by developers.

Now the problem is to add New folder/ files passed by the developers.

Scenario 1 : When Adding new folder -Newfolder1( under SubFolder1, we checkout at “SubFolder1”.

This when compared to Scenario2 below has less number of folder and files.

Scenario 2 : When Adding new folder Newfolder2 under RootFolder1, we are doing a checkout the whole RTC Repository from RootFolder1.

This is time consuming since need to load all folders/files under RootFolder1.

Sample Folder File structure of our Project Area

is there a way that we can do a checkout by

            1. Only check-out RootFolder1/SubFolder1 in the RTC workspace, remaining all folders and sub-folders including files are not checked-out. Is there a way we can implement this during check-out?

            2. By this way Internal Team no need to check-out whole repository even for Scenario1 and Scenario2

3. Copy straight away the New Folder/files passed from Developers to the respective folders and deliver to RTC.

In order to get an answer on this forum, it will be important to phrase your question using RTC terminology.   In particular, as Ralph mentions, RTC does not use the term "check out".   I'm going to guess that by "check out", you meant "load into a sandbox".   If you want to just create a single folder without loading the entire component into the sandbox, then you cannot do so with the Eclipse client, but you can do so with the Web client.   Select the stream where you want to add the folder, navigate down to the component/folder in which you want to add the new folder, and click on the "add folder" button.

As far as I know RTC does not support the concept of check-out.
