Extracting artifacts from Module to a Collection

Venkatesh Nadamuni (137) | asked Jun 21 '19, 12:49 p.m.

We use an Integration application that synchronizes artifacts with other ALM systems.  The Integration application filters (selects) artifacts to synchronize based on a collection.

In reading Can a collection be created from artifacts within the module view in DNG?, I understand that there is no way to select a subset of items from a Module and add them to a collection.

What is the best alternative?

What I am doing right now is to dump it to a CSV file, copy the IDs, create a collection artifact and paste the IDs into the modal dialog for selecting/adding artifacts to the collection.

Even views don't seem to work!

You could:
- Open the collection
- Select 'Add artifacts'
- Create a filter on attribute 'Where Used (Modules)
- Select the relevant module
The list of artifacts that are contained in the selected  module now show in the list, and you can select which ones to add to the collection.
