RTC REST API - unable to get the workitems filtered by category with qualified name

The foillowing URL to get the work items filtered by category tree/Qualified name is throwing error Error 500: CRRED8022E: Non Queryable Field: category/qualifiedName

https://rtc.xyz.com/ccm0009001/rpt/repository/workitem?fields=workitem/workItem[category/qualifiedName='/A/AB/ABC']/(id|type/name)

As you can make out from the error message, not all properties in RTC are allowed in filtering and category/qualifiedName is one of them. Other examples - type/name, state/name, etc.
You can rather filter by category/itemId or category/contextId
