How to do source code version controlling using RTC V6.0.2?

We are using RFT test automation tool - "Rational Functional Tester v8.6.0.7".

Now, we want to know how to do source code version controlling using RFT and RTC?

Is this somewhere related to streams/baselines/workspaces & change sets?

If yes, can someone explain me the steps for doing so in a simple way..?Also, is it related to Global configuration Management activation key to create streams/baselines/workspaces/repository & change sets?

Basic RTC:

- A Project area (with a defined template)
- Team area (optional)
- Stream (More like a container)
- Components (More like top level folder)
- Need a Client (Eclipse, Visual studio, command line) to check in files (as change sets)
- Optional work items for linking the change set for tracking.

You don't need Global configuration for basic source code management.
